At long last, the work is complete! The historic brick pump house has been renovated and transformed into an attractive functional facility. This facility’s original use was to pump potable water up Seahurst into a wooden storage tank many, many years ago. Now, it will provide school children, walkers, and bicyclists with temporary shelter during periods of inclement weather. It will also serve as a view point where neighbors can gather and converse. This 1930's pump house was rejuvenated and transformed with a grant from the City of Everett's Office of Neighborhoods, and by the efforts of many neighbors working together exemplifying the pride and spirit of this community.
Many thanks to all the volunteers who joined with neighbors in donating valuable time, hard labor, refreshments, plants, artistic tile work, and moral support! Together, we have created a neighborhood landmark we can all be proud of, while preserving one of the few historical icons linking us to the past.
